Overview

Ænâ Baqo Gûchya was founded durring the early 11th century, by Caw̋m Vúnvēs 'Alina Space' Méoidīs Sē̄ Vúór. The establishment of Ænâ Baqo Gûchya was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Ænâ Baqo Gûchya's construction back out of the project. Caw̋m Vúnvēs 'Alina Space' Méoidīs Sē̄ Vúór pushed on reguardles, and Ænâ Baqo Gûchya was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Ænâ Baqo Gûchya was built using the conventions of Rattu durring the early 11th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Ænâ Baqo Gûchya is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

Ænâ Baqo Gûchya is buildings are arranged arround a single crampt baked earthen mainstreet with many smaller streets branching off of it which gives the city a over all rectangular shape, albit one warped and twisted by the nature of the curves of the main road. The city has a set of well fortified walls, with gatehouses, watch towers, battlments, and even a moat, which are fashioned from stone and timber. Ænâ Baqo Gûchya's walls are, howeaver, fashioned from stone and timber. While unorthadox, the design looks to be functional to a reasonable degree. With luck, the untested design will remain untested for years to come. Ænâ Baqo Gûchya's unusual though effective defenses are in an unremarkable state. To some, this is the ideal sate for defences to be in. In need of absoutly nothing, and ready to serve the city as needed.

A look around Ænâ Baqo Gûchya has something terribly wrong with it. It’s impossible to put one’s finger on, but something is horribly wrong. Maybe it’s the way fog blankets the ground, but only in the connors of places. Maybe it’s the vermin scutteling between shadows in the corner of your eyes. Perhaps it’s the overcast sky which seemed to creep out of nowhere, or the distant howling of wolves. Maybe it’s everything together. Regardless, you do not feel it would be wise to remain in Ænâ Baqo Gûchya long.

Cultural Notes

Ænâ Baqo Gûchya's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by dynamic designs and complex architectural plan forms; intended to heighten feelings of motion and sensuality, and frequently based on the oval. It made extensive and extreme use of: Grandeur, Contrast, Curves and twists, Rich surface treatments, Gilded statuary, Bright colors, Vividly painted ceilings, Fragmented or deliberately incomplete elements, Large-scale frescoes, Dramatic central projections on an external facade, the use of plaster, stucco, or marble finishing, Illusory effects such as trompe l’oeil, and pear-shaped domes. While beloved by the nobility, the common folk tended to despise the style due to the massive consumption of resources required for even a small building constructed in this style.

Due to the actions of local Kami, spring is skipped in Ænâ Baqo Gûchya.

Points of Interest

Ænâ Baqo Gûchya was unknowingly built atop something unstable, and now that substrate is crumbling. It may be swampy ground or a decaying coastline, or it could be an ancient buried city that’s now giving way. In the case of some antique habitation, the denizens that once lived there might be boiling upward as their home is collapsing, or new opportunities may be revealed even as the community’s present structure is ruined.

Ænâ Baqo Gûchya's is something of a geological and arcane anomaly, as neither physical nor magical law entirely explains its formation.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century Loch Chandra began to boil, and released a thick toxic cloud from beneath its waters which brought great calamity to the entire nation, killing every person and animal in its path which could not escape the cloud. Oddly, the plants of the region flourished in the years after the disaster. The disaster brought an end to people, livestock, and buildings. The disaster is referred to as the Terror Wind.
